Panabode Mural Project

Panabode Mural Project
These worn sheds are in the Society’s garden space. We want to turn them into works of art. We are working with members of our community to create a design that is simple and beautiful and can be a “paint by numbers” project. The challenge: the mural painting needs to be completed by September 30.
Base Coat Painting Date: Completed!
Last Saturday was a beautiful afternoon for painting. This was a big step forward for the Mural Project. The walls of the sheds now have a white basecoat. A huge thank you is extended to everyone who came out and spent the afternoon removing peeling paint, tapping in extruding nail heads, and painting.
Photos: before—brown panabodes, Rowan applies the first brush strokes—by 5:00 pm and 3.5 gallons later, all the outside walls have primer applied. The hardest work is done—our canvas is prepped! 😀
Thank you to Cloverdale Paint Inc. for providing the painting supplies. Did you know that Cloverdale Paint Inc. is Canadian owned and operated and that they are celebrating their 90th anniversary in 2023?

Next Steps: Friday, September 22 Mural Painting
We will we mural painting on Friday, September 22 starting at 9:00 am. The background colours will be applied first, then Lynnie will resketch the design and the flowers and trees, etc. will be painted.

On Monday, September 19, muralist Chris Dovey considers how he will position his bee and sunflower design on the doors of the sheds. The photo is his inspiration. (Deborah Maier)
