Updated: The Calgary Horticultural Society officially announces the cancellation of 2020 Garden Show
Updated April 1
It is with great sadness that we are officially announcing the cancellation of the 2020 Calgary Horticultural Society Garden Show, scheduled for April 25th and 26th at the Max Bell Arena.
We received the following notice on Thursday, March 19:
“All festivals and events planned to be held between now and April 30 on or in a City facility with an expected attendance of 50 people or more must be canceled or postponed. This decision is in alignment with the Federal and Provincial direction on mass gatherings, as well as The City of Calgary’s current approach to public engagement due to COVID-19.” —City of Calgary Recreation
We want to take this opportunity to thank those who contribute to the Garden Show every year. We are tremendously grateful to our major sponsor, greengate Garden Centres, for their generosity for so many years. Thank you to all our sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and workshop instructors for their ongoing support.
A very special thank you to our staff, volunteers and members for their tireless work to keep this organization growing. We continue to look forward to new and exciting ways to engage with our community, and to celebrate the arrival of spring and a new gardening season!
Due to the current challenges facing our members and community, the Board has decided to postpone our membership fee increase.
These are very unusual circumstances and we recognize the need to remain calm and acknowledge that we are all in this together.
Please stay safe,
The Calgary Horticultural Society Board of Directors
Our Garden Show team is contacting show exhibitors, speakers and workshop instructors. However, if you have any questions about the Show, email Nisha Sridhar, Garden Show coordinator at email@example.com.
