Garden Journal
The Society’s has a new edition of its gardening journal, The Growing Journal. The journal allows for daily and monthly tracking, plant database and plant log sections for recording what’s been planted in what conditions, an area to record what insects are being found and when, places to sketch, areas to capture ideas, Words of Wisdom and checklists. There’s even a pocket for storing seed packets or plant tags. It’s a great tool for an ardent gardener. If you would like to see the journal prior to purchasing, please call the office to make an appointment to visit. Buy the journal for yourself or as a great gift for a gardener.
Calgary Gardening magazine
Looking for great resources to help you garden more successfully? Eight times a year, the Society publishes the member e-magazine, Calgary Gardening. The articles in the magazine provide a wealth of gardening information written by Calgary gardeners with years of experience working in our unique climate. Calgary Gardening issues are posted in the members-only section of the website. Currently, magazines dating back to the February/March 2015 issue are available online.
Previous publications by the Calgary Horticultural Society, Calgary Gardener Volumes 1 and 2, 100th Anniversary Calgary Gardening, Calgary Zone Map, Back to the Future are out of print but may be reviewed in the Society’s library. Note: we occasionally have used copies of these books available. Call the office if you are interested in obtaining one
The Gardeners’ Corner e-news
The Society publishes a weekly e-news. It is sent out on Friday mornings and offers gardening tips, recaps of Society events, promotes our programs and notes current volunteer opportunities.
