If you feel you need a better foundation before committing to this program, then sign up for Garden Fundamentals On Demand. This course takes us back to the basics, enabling participants to gain a better understanding of what is happening in their landscapes and how to be better gardeners. To learn more about Garden Fundamentals On Demand, visit the event post on the What’s Happening calendar.

To help with plant identification and nomenclature, sign up for Introduction to Woody ID. The goal of this course is to allow students to learn the basics of Latin nomenclature of plants, learn descriptive terminology to help with plant ID, and learn to identify 27 species of trees and shrubs planted and growing in and around the Calgary area. The class will also cover some of the details about the plant families the specimens are part of, as well as briefly discuss plant uses and maintenance concerns. Registration for this class has closed. Watch for Perennial ID in the spring.
