Share Your Story
The Society was successful in receiving a Calgary Arts Development Public Arts Project grant.
Our project: Flora, A Treasury of Short Stories from the Calgary Horticultural Society community addressing the theme of “explore the stories of your community”.
The end project is an art book that contains these stories. The artist we are working with on this project is Andrea Lau. Contributors will receive a copy of the book.
Call for Stories
We reached out to some members for stories and have received seven. The project requires 20. If you would like to participate and have your story considered for this project, it needs to be received no later than March 30. Stories are to be garden related. It could be a childhood memory, about your favourite plant, Calgary Horticultural Society history, or a poem inspired by garden visit. Andrea is open to a variety of written pieces. Once she reads the works, she will create a piece of artwork based on your writing. Please submit your story using the form below.
