Spring Pruning

In this workshop, expert arborist Jean Daoust will teach you how to prune your trees safely, about the pruning tools available to the gardener, and about methods of pruning.

You will learn about tree biology, biomechanics and how trees grow.  You will find out how trees react to pruning or injury, and how they respond to the forces of nature.

Additionally, you will find out how to Identify what to prune, and why, and how to improve health and structure on deciduous and coniferous species.  You will learn the three "Ds" of pruning, and other important reasons to prune.

You will also learn about the appropriate pruning techniques for both young and mature trees.

About Jean Daoust:

Jean-Mathieu Daoust, was born and grew up here in Calgary.  Developing a passion for horticulture at a very young age, he gained a BaSc in Landscape Management, an Arboriculture diploma and become an ISA certified arborist. Since 2002 he has owned and operated Tree Frog Tree Care.  Trees are his life and passion, which he is delighted to share with the audience.

Pre-registration is required for all workshops. All workshops are at the Society’s office (208 – 50 Ave SW), unless otherwise noted.

No Refunds on workshops, unless cancelled by the Society, or if there is a wait list. Space is limited, register early to avoid disappointment.
