Series of calendar photos: cover, back page, January, and Perennial Plants of the Year

The Theme

For 2023, the theme for submissions was Society’s Perennial Plant of the Year (PPOY) and Bulb of the Year plants. They could the designated plants or plants contributors felt performed so well in their gardens that they should receive the designation. Contributors were also asked to provide growing tips for the plant they photographed and general Calgary and area growing tips.

We requested photos of one of the Society’s PPOY plants growing in local gardens that were putting on a fabulous show. Contributors could also submit photos of other perennials that have been amazing year-after-year that could be proposed as a PPOY. Along with the photos, we asked for key growing tips.
