FALL PLANT SHARE
An opportunity to take plants from your garden and share those that need a new home.
Date: Saturday, September 11, 2010 - RAIN OR SHINE!
Time: 9:00am to 12 Noon (Hours may be reduced if weather is poor)
Location: On the grassy field west of the Society office at 208 - 50 Ave. S.W.
The Society office is reducing the number of books we currently have in our library. This is an excellent time to pick up some great gardening books for your collection, as there is a wide variety of topics to choose from. To find out which books are available, please visit the Society office.
Donations are being accepted as payment. All proceeds go to support the Society office backyard community garden project.
The objective of the Plant Share is for Society members to share excess plant material with other members and provide information about plants, their cultures and habits. Plant advisors are on hand to answer questions.
The success of the Plant Share depends on plants and participation. If you've never participated before, plan on attending this year.
You can still join in the fun, even if you don't have plants to share:
Plants can be purchased for $2.00 ea - see full explanation of processes in the "How it Works" link below. Please remember, plants must be in good condition, plants that are not in good condition will not be accepted.
In addition to plant sharing, you can enjoy the on-site vendors, socialize over coffee and cookies, and share gardening knowledge with other enthusiastic gardeners!
REMEMBER - Be sure to carefully label all your plants (common name, mature height, colour)
PRIOR to arriving, this helps speed up the check-in process.
Also, please review
Alberta's Invasive Plant Council's plant list.
Any plants brought that appear on this list will be turned away.
