In this grouping, the purple leaves of the barberry offset the oat-coloured stalks of the Karl Foerster grass and blue stalks of the oat grass beautifully. The yellow blooms of the daylily will pop out against the purple barberry. When planning your group, always try to plant odd numbers of specimens: 1 (becomes a focal point), 3, 5, and so on. Note that plantings do not have to be symmetrical to make a statement.
