Members - How You Can Help
Dig up a
plant (or two, or more) to be donated to gardeners affected by the
flood. All plants being donated are a gift and
therefore no extra numbers will be added to your member's only
plant share ticket. At this time we are
only accepting perennial plant donations. We
are not in position to accept books, tools or pots.
Bring your donation of plants
directly to the designated Flood Support Area that
will be located on the green space just east of the Plant Share
A tarp will be set up and you can place your plants there.
Volunteers will be available to assist.
Label plants clearly - If you are not sure,
volunteers will help identify the plants.
Donations will be accepted from 9:00 until
10:30 and earlier if you are volunteering.
If you know someone who has been affected by
the flood, please share this E-news with them.
Society volunteers will be on hand to provide direction and
assistance as needed.
Coffee, cookies/cupcakes will also be available for a loonie.
We do realized that
some gardeners are still in the rebuilding phase of their homes and
gardens and may not be ready for plant material. That's okay, we
encourage people to come and get their questions answered. We
will plan to host another plant donation area during our Spring
2014 Plant Share held in May. Details will follow closer to
Your generosity is appreciated by the
Society and we know will be appreciated by the gardener's whose
gardens were affected by the flood.
